DMT – Deep Muscle Therapy

DMT deals with nerves, muscles, bones and the lymphatic system. It is a systemic kneading stroking and pressure point therapy applied over the entire body.

DMT employs techniques that releases tension deep in the muscles, tendons and connective tissues. Deep muscle therapy applies far more pressure that other therapies and can at times be painful. Its goal is to relieve more deep rooted issues of chronic pain.

In order to reach deep muscle tissue a therapist will work layer by layer of muscle applying more and more pressure and employing special techniques with fingers, fists and perhaps even elbows to reach and stretch the deep tissues of the body.

MLD – Manual Lymphatic Drainage

MLD deals with the lymph-vascular system.

Lymph vessels are concerned with conveying excess fluids, foreign particles and other material from the body’s tissues and cells.

This system works closely with white blood cells (known as lymphocytes) that are so essential to the body’s defence against disease.

It is a very light touch systematically applied to the entire body. When the stomach area is worked on in Manual Lymphatic Drainage the breast area is covered.
